Our Story
This project started out as a personal drive to live sustainably and environmentally friendly. It all started after our daughter was born, my wife and I decided that the best way to keep our baby healthy was to start our own vegitable garden. We had the land so thought we had everything we needed to start gardening. Very soon we realized having our own backyard garden wasnt enough, we had to control what went into the garden. We decided earlier on that we would try a non chemical aproach to gardening. We did our fair share of composting but found that wasnt enough, in our search for more avenues of soil additives we came across used coffee grounds.
I am a coffee drinker and my wife is a tea drinker and we used to end up throwing away our used coffee and tea remants. After reading up on a few blogs links we decided to start using them in our garden. The results were dramatic, please check out the gallery section to see the pictures. We very soon realized we could do more than just get the coffee grounds and use it in our garden. We had the time and desire so we decided to set out to help others down the same path.
That is how Project Green Bean started.
