Today we decided to try mixing in lime into our coffee grounds to see if it helps with our lawn. We might have to wait a few weeks to see the result. On a personal note I think just re-using what would have been landfill matierials in a more responsible way is satisfaction enough. Hopefuly the earthworms love us for doing so.
Please try it out an send us pictures of your gardens. Remember we are all together on this planet and it takes all of us to save it.

One of the biggest problems I have come across is finding a way to spread the coffee dust. I used coffee grounds I picked up from my local Starbucks and dried them over a
few weeks. Once ready to spread on my lawn I tried using a regular fertilizer spreader but had no luck.
The problem is (I think) the dried coffee grounds are too light and dont fall down the slot to the spreader blade. I eventually ended up spreading by hand which definitely
didnt let me spread evenly. I am on the look out for a better way to spread it. I would like to hear from you on what you use and if you have any suggestions. I used a simple
Scotts spreader
I would love to get your garden pictures so send some over if you have and I will post it java@projectgreenbean.com.
